Minutes of the Business Meeting
of September 6, 2011
I. The business meeting was called to order at 6:34 PM by Vice-president Steve Grenot.
Members attending: Vice-president Steve Grenot, Treasurer Bill Little, Secretary Reed Ostrander, Members: Cody Beers, Tim Beers, Chip Borona, Banks Edwards, Bob Murphy, Connor O’Brien, Sean O’Brien, Art Sherman, Charles Tucker; Visitor: Mike Wishnacht.
A. Announcements
1. The next run session will be on at 6:00 PM Sept. 20 at Bill Little’s home.
2. The next meeting will be held at 6:30PM at Trains by Johnson’s on October 4, 2011.
B. Minutes of the previous meeting of August 2, 2011 were read by Secretary Reed Ostrander.
1. Banks moved acceptance and was seconded by Charles.
a. The minutes were accepted as written.
C. The treasurer’s report was presented by Bill Little.
1. As of this date there is $703.11in the treasury.
2. We will be paying $301.00 for Club insurance this month.
a. Tim moved acceptance and was seconded by Banks.
b. The report was accepted as presented.
D. Old Business
1. Steve will get Ron’s boxes of scenery for his modules.
2. Tim requested that we look into the need for new Club shirts.
3. There will be a work session on Saturday Sept. 10 to finish repairs on the trailer roof.
4. There will be work session on Sunday Sept. 11 at 2:00PM to load the trailer at Bob Murphy’s home. Please try to attend so that loading will go quickly.
5. Bill and Chip will not go to Dothan. It was decided to attend with only 4 members (Steve, Reed, Tim, Bob) to set up. Bob will tow the trailer. The Club will reimburse Bob for gasoline costs to Dothan. The O’Briens will attend Sunday and help take down.
E. New Business
1. Interstate Fair: Reed will be coordinator; Bob will be load master and Steve will be layout master.
a. The dates of the fair are: set-up Sunday October 16 to Wednesday October 19. Fair begins Thursday October 20 at 4:00 PM. Weekdays 4:00PM to 10:00PM, weekends 10:00AM to 10:00PM. Final run day will be Saturday October 29. Take down will be 10:00AM Sunday October 30.
2. Tim suggested that we replace all modular wiring with standard appropriate colored wires of a standard size (number 12).
a. Banks and Tim will look into costs and part availability and report at the next meeting. 2
3. Doors on the clubhouse still need replacing. I was suggested that this work be
undertaken after the Fair.
4. The Club unanimously supported sending flowers and a card to Ron Hartman. His health is deteriorating.
F. The meeting was adjourned at 7:30PM.
