Minutes of the Business Meeting
May 3, 2016
The
business meeting was called to order at 6:31 PM by President Reed Ostrander
Officers
attending were Secretary Chip Borona and Treasurer Bill Little.
Members
attending were Howard Cowgill, Jerry Dupont, Banks Edwards and Charles Tucker.
I. Reading of the Minutes
A.
In the interest in saving some time as most members were not in attendance, a
motion was made by Charles Tucker to not read the minutes of the previous
meeting.
a.
It was seconded by Banks and approved by
those members in attendance.
II. Treasurer’s Report
A.
The
Treasurer’s report was read to the club by Bill Little reporting that the
current balance is $1152.02.
a.
The Club
received a $100 check from the Foley Train Show for their attendance.
b.
The
approval of the report was moved by Tucker, seconded by Banks and approved by
the membership.
A.
The next
Business Meeting
will be held at
6:30pm at Bill’s Train Shed on
Tuesday June 7th.
a.
Members
can arrive at
5:30pm to
grill and eat dinner, then to stay after the
meeting to run trains.
i.
Hot Dogs
& Hamburgers & the trimmings will be provided.
ii.
You can
also bring your own food to grill, a cover dish or desert. There will be drinks
or BYOB.
b.
Bill
encourages all members to use the gate on the side street.
i.
Disabled
members can use the gate at the front of the house.
B.
The next
Run Session
will be held at
6:00pm at Bill’s Train Shed on
Tuesday May 17th.
a
Hot Dogs
& Hamburgers & the trimmings will be provided.
b.
You can
also bring your own food to grill, a cover dish or desert. There will be drinks
or BYOB.
c.
Bill
encourages all members to use the gate on the side street.
i.
Disabled
members can use the side gate at the front of the house.
C.
This month there will be an
additional
Run Session held at
6:00pm
at Bill’s Train Shed on
Tuesday May 31st.
IV. Old Business
A.
Status of
the Roundhouse Modules
a.
All
plywood reinforcements are now complete.
b.
The
installation of the new leg pockets are complete.
c.
Repair of
broken ends are in progress.
d.
Planning
the installation of the turnout machines has begun.
e.
The next
work session on the Roundhouse Module will be on Tuesday May 10th .
i.
Reed
plans to start about 11am, and go until about 3pm
B.
Club
shirts are now on order with the embroiderer.
V. New Business
A.
Charles
Tucker would like to host a Run/Ops Session for Tuesday August 16th.
B.
The Club
will relocate the Bridge and Ethanol modules to Jerry’s for repair & Maintenance
on Saturday May 14th.
a.
Jerry
will pick up the trailer about 900am at Bills and bring it to his house about
10am.
i.
Those who
would like to help are welcome to join in.
C.
Reed
provided a 40 minute PowerPoint presentation on weathering to the Club at the
May Business Meeting.
D.
Chip has
volunteered to provide two demonstrations for the Club.
a. The June 7th meeting will be how to build removable coal loads
b.
The July
5th meeting will be how to create rubber molds and make resin
castings.
E.
Chip
volunteered to contact Tippy Wagner regarding the one day Flomaton Festival in
September and determine how much money the Festival will provide for our
attendance.
VI. Club Welfare
a.
There was
nothing to report.
The
meeting was adjourned at 6:57pm
