Minutes of the Business Meeting

 June 4, 2013

The business meeting was called to order at 6:33 PM by President Chip Borona.

Members attending: President Bob Murphy, Treasurer Bill Little, Members: Banks Edwards, Art Sherman, Rick Simmons and Chip Borona

A. Announcements

1. There will be a work session on Sunday at12:30PM out at NAS Pensacola, Bld648.

2. The next run session will be on June 25, 2013 for 6:00 PM at Bill's in his train shed. Hot dogs and hamburger

will be available.

3. The next meeting will be held at 6:30PM at Trains by Johnson's on July 2, 2013.

B. Minutes of November Meeting

The previous MoM of May 7, 2013 was read by Dave Ramirez.

    1. Art moved acceptance and was seconded by Banks.

        a. The minutes were accepted with as written.

C. The Treasurer's Report

The Treasurer’s Report was overlooked by Bill Little and all members present. Bill Little sent in the report by email.

    1. As of this date there is $ 1,666.50 in the treasury.

D. Old Business

1. Chip reviewed the May work session out at the base:

We made some good progress on Friday. There were only three of us (Bill Little, Reed and myself), but

we got the plastic gaps filled to shape and we did run a DCC locomotive on the throat to the yard.

This initially was a bit of an electrical challenge because we were reading some wild voltages on the

track and at the DSC booster! A quick phone call to Digitrax left us, for a time, with the sinking feeling

that the booster was BAD and needed to be repaired and replaced.

As we continued we were humbled to find a loose wire at the DSC booster. Once that was fixed,

everything else worked GREAT!

So, we will continue to hook up mods and run trains.

2. There was no activity to report from the Train Show Committee.

E. New Business

1. Invitation to the PNS Interstate Fair Kick-Off was received and handed over to President Murphy.

a) Diner at 6:30 PM on June 18, at the PNS Fair Grounds.

2. Flomaton is a GO for September, date TBD, point of contact is Tippy Wagner.

b) This year we will invite the N-scalers to join with us.

3. The Tallahassee Train Show will be held at the THL Fair Grounds on June 15 from 9AM to 4PM.

4. Chip demo’d his 4-wheel coal Jimmie he built from a laser-cut kit.

5. POST MEETING: Dave Ramirez gave a “5 minute How To” on DCC “Slot MAX”.

The meeting was adjourned at 7:20PM.
