Minutes of business meeting

July 3, 2023

 

I.. The business meeting was called to order at 6:30 PM by President Charles Tucker.

     A. Officers attending: President Charles Tucker, Vice-president Steve Grenot, Treasurer Bill Little, Secretary Gerald Russo.
    B. Members attending: Bob Canavello, Banks Edwards, Chuck Mudford, Reed Ostrander, Mark Saltero, Jesse Shealy, Richard Simmons, Bob Tribble.

 

II. Minutes of the previous meeting of June 5th were read by Acting Secretary Robert Canavello.

     A. Corrections to minutes: None

         1. The minutes were moved and accepted.

 

III. The treasurer’s report was presented by Treasurer Bill Little.

     A. As of this date there is $1,146.79 in the treasury.

 

IV. Announcements:

     A. Next Meeting will be at 6:30 p.m. August 7, 2023

     B. Next run session(s) July10, 17, 24, 31, 2023

     C. Thank you to Bill for his hospitality!

     D. Howard Cowgill’s Funeral will be on Friday, July 7 at 11:30 am. at St. Christopher’s Episcopal Church, 3200 N. 12th Avenue.

 

V. Old Business

     A. Finish the Farm module. - (a few minor details) We are awaiting parts.

           1.Banks added end pieces to the module, still need one handle)

     B. Repairs need to be made here in the club house. See separate sheet.

     C. Update from Sean about work on new trailer.

     D. A new cart for the Engine Facility needs to be designed and built. (Sean is designing it.)

     E. Work on the list of work to be done on the club layout. September will be here before we know it!!

     F. Continue work on preparing for Operating sessions- currently installing new turnouts. (Work is in progress.)

     G. Need to develop the methods to activate turnouts (green)

     H. Need delayed un-couplers for operations (purchased)

 

VI. New Business

     A. Select industries and cars to be delivered during the operating sessions and make pockets and car cards. (Bill & Jesse to set list)

     B. Reed suggested we look into a crossing gate and signal for the crossing on the farm module manufactured by Model Train Technology. It lists for $379.95.

         1. President’s comment “it looks good especially if there could be several donors to chip in-not just one!!

     C. Continue setting up the engine facility.

         1.  Chuck wired the Round House facility and repaired the M1 turnout.

     D. Comments by President

        1. No additional 

    E. Comments by any other members.

        1. Russo printed out a “Switch List Form” to start operations.

 

VII. Club Welfare

     We continue to lift up Steve, Donna, Rick Simmons, Reed Ostrander, Sue and Howard’s family.
