Minutes of the Business Meeting

February 4, 2019

 

The meeting was called to order by President Charles Tucker at 6:34 pm.

     Officers present were: President Charles Tucker, Vice-President Jerry DuPont, and Treasurer Bill Little.

     Members present were: Howard Cowgill, Chip Borona, Steve Grenot, Rick Simmons, Sean O’Brien.

     Visitor: Dustin Kelmer.

 

I. A rough remembrance of the conduct of the January meeting was made by Charles since due to Reed’s illness, the minutes of the January meeting were not available.

 

II. The treasurer’s report was made by Bill. $831.51 plus $300. In dues checks, collected at the meeting gives a total of $1131.51. Chip moved and Steve, seconded that the treasurer’s report be approved and the motion carried without dissent.

 

III. Announcements

        A. The next business meeting will be held on March 4, 2019 at 6:30 pm. at the clubhouse.

        B. the run sessions for the month will be on February 11 and February 25.

        C. Reed is scheduled to present programs for the Leisure Learning Group in February and March.

IV. Old Business

        A. Work that needs to be done before the Mobile Show: Check the power cabinet for short circuits.

        B. Jerry is in progress of replacing the two double slip switches on the mail line of the Engine facility modules and when finishes will tackle the turnout and bridge for the connection or the modules to Bill’s layout. 

        C. Commitments for the Mobile Show:

                Friday: Charles, Howard, Jerry, Bill, Sean, Dustin and Richard (if he does not have out-of-town guests)

                Saturday: Charles, Dustin, Jerry and Bill.

                Sunday: Sean, Charles, Howard, Dustin, Jacob, Jerry.

 

V. New Business

        A. Presentations for Spring Meetings

                1. Chip volunteers to do a presentation of Railroading in Pensacola for the April meeting, health permitting.

                2. Jerry volunteered to do a presentation on making trees, in May or June.

B. Mobile Show reminders: Setup on Friday, March8; Run on Saturday, March 9 and Sunday, March 10. Hours: Sat 9-5 and Sun,10-4. Teardown after the show. NOTICE: time change at 2am Sunday—set clocks forward, which means loss of sleep!       

 

VI. Club Welfare

        B. Our prayers are with Chip, Banks and Reed.
