Minutes of the Business Meeting
of April 2, 2018
The business meeting was called to order at 6:30 pm by President Charles Tucker.
Officers attending were President Charles Tucker, Vice-President Steve Grenot, Secretary Chip Borona and Treasurer Bill Little.
Members attending were Howard Cowgill, Jerry Dupont, Jacob Navarro, Sean O’Brien, Reed Ostrander and Rick Simmons.
I Reading of the Minutes
The minutes of last month’s meeting were read by Chip.
Reed made a motion to accept the minutes, Rick seconded and the minutes were approved by the membership
II Treasurer’s Report
The Treasurer’s report was read to the club by Bill reporting that the current balance is $1,163.76.
Steve made a motion to accept the Treasure’s Report, Chip seconded and the report was approved by the membership.
III Announcements
The next Business Meeting will be held at 6:30 pm at the Clubhouse on Monday
May 7, 2018. Members can run trains before and after the meeting.
The 1st Run Session will be held at 6:00pm at the Clubhouse on April 16, 2018.
The 2nd Run Session will be held at 6:00pm at the Clubhouse on April 23, 2018.
The 3rd Run Session will be held at 6:00pm at the Clubhouse on April 30, 2018.
At the monthly business meeting and run sessions Bill provides hot dogs & hamburgers with all the trimmings. You can also bring your own food to grill, a cover dish or desert. There will be drinks or BYOB. Members can arrive at 5:30 pm to grill and eat dinner. Please park and use the gate on the side street. Disabled members can use the gate at the front of the house.
All members are encouraged to RSVP the Host so they can anticipate the food headcount.
There will be an Old-Fashioned Swap-Meet at the West Florida Railroad Museum L&N Depot on Saturday April 21, 2018. It is located at 5003 Henry St. Milton, Florida.
The meet will begin about 8:00 am and go till about noonish.
Plan to get there early as things can go pretty quick.
If you want to Sell or Barter, bring a table and set up your ‘no-longer needed’ rolling stock, locos, buildings, track and other train related items.
FREE ADMISSION to the RR Museum, operating HO and G scale outdoor layout.

IV Old Business
Roundhouse Module
The Roundhouse Module is now connected to the Clubhouse Layout. Many thanks to Jerry for building the switch to allow trains to enter the module from the Clubhouse Layout.
There is still minor work to the tracks and wiring still remaining.
The turntable is still a work in progress.
Member Hosted Events
Many thanks go out to Charles Tucker for the March Business meeting at his home. The live-steam demo and meal he prepared was outstanding.
Again, many thanks to Jerry Dupont for hosting the last run session at his home and food he had prepared.
DC on Red
Not working with the layout. Jerry suggests installing a G-scale DC decoder to be located in the power cabinet. Cost is about $70.
Reed made a motion to purchase 2 of the decoders & accessories for ~$120.
Steve seconded and the motion was approved by the membership.
NMRA SE Region Convention; Pensacola Grand Hotel
Reed provided an update on the weekend convention of August 18th.
Cost for the one day event will be $20 for NMRA members and $20-30 for non-members.
Three presenters are being lined up to cover topics as RR Ferries and How to Plan a Model RR.
Representatives from Digitrax are planning to be there.
Home layouts to include Steve Hoxie and Dan Hayden and a G-scale layout at the Hilton.
More details to follow.
V New Business
Presentations for Spring Meetings
April 23rd Run Session, 6:00 pm. Reed will present installing couplers.
Bring come cars and your tools and we’ll see what we can do.
May 21st Run Session, 6:00 pm. Jerry will present decoder installation.
If you have a decoder for your engine, bring it along and maybe we can install it.
2018 New Projects
Tallahassee Train Show in June.
Comments from the members indicated there was not a lot of interest going and setting up.
One day show, long drive with an overnight stay, poor compensation for gas, and difficulty reloading the trailer because of the limited space in front of the building.
New legs for the corner modules.
April 14th Work Session, 8:00 -9:00 am at Jerry’s
Off load the power cabinet from the trailer.
