Minutes of Business Meeting

October 2, 2023


I. The business meeting was called to order at 6:30 PM by President Charles Tucker.
     A.Officers attending: President Charles Tucker, Treasurer Bill Little, Secretary Gerald Russo.

      B. Members attending: Bob Canavello, Jerry Dupont, Chuck Mudford, Reed Ostrander, Mark Soltero, Jesse Shealy, Bob Tribble.

II. Minutes of the previous meeting of September 11, 2023 were read by Secretary Gerald Russo.
     A. Corrections to minutes: Correct spelling of Flomaton
          1. The minutes were moved and accepted.
     B. The treasurer’s report was presented by Treasurer Bill Little.
          1. As of this date there is $1,293.79 in the treasury.
          2. Also $375 for proposed crossing gate
III. Announcements:
     A. Next Meeting will be at 6:30 p.m. November 6, 2023
     B. Next run session(s) October 9, & 30, 2023
     C. Thank you to Bill for his hospitality!
     D. Set-up for the Fair begins on Sunday, October 15 @ 12:30pm, and continues until the Fair opens on Thursday, October 19. WE NEED ALL HANDS!!
     E. I hope to have passes to give out at this meeting.
     F. Kudos to Sean for fantastic work on the trailer!!!
     G. Many thanks to Terry Tucker for transporting our trailer to and from the Flomaton Show.
     H. Thanks to Reed, Steve, Chuck, Bob Tribble, Andy, Jesse for working the show in Flomaton.
     I. Welcome visitor William “Opie” Benton

 

IV. Old Business
     A. Repairs need to be made here in the club house. See separate sheet.
     B. A new cart for the Engine Facility needs to be designed and built. (Sean is designing it.) (Cart is completed)
     C. Continue work on preparing for Operating sessions- currently installing new turnouts. (Work is in progress.)
     D. Check out list of repairs to club layout to be made at set-up time.

V. New Business
     A. Report on progress on locations and cars to be delivered during the operating sessions. Jesse has been researching this.
          1.  List of operations locations and list of cars to be used.
          2. Chuck to develop set of car-cards to be used for operations.
     B. Trial running the engine facility.
     C. Chuck to set-up round house and engine facility yard on the new cart and load it (with help) into the trailer.
     D. Motion, second and approved to give Terry Tucker a $100 gift card for his assistance moving the trailer to/from the Flomaton show.
     E. Recommendation by Russo to modify the show banner (wrong WWW. listing)
     F. Chuck will bring the trailer to the Fair Grounds.
    G. Discussion concerning the use of 9” track sections between show modules. H. Comments by President: none


VI. Club Welfare
     We continue to lift up Steve, Donna, Rick Simmons, Reed Ostrander, Sue and Howard’s family. Rick Simmons is at home and on the mend. He would enjoy visitors—call first.
