Minutes Business Meeting of
February 1, 2021
A. The business meeting was called to order at 6:30 PM by President Charles Tucker.
Members attending: President Charles Tucker, Treasurer Bill Little, Secretary Gerald Russo. Members: Chip Borona, Ben Kelmer, Dustin Kelmer, Jacob Navarro, Richard Simmons, Bob Tribble
B. Minutes of the previous meeting of Jan. 4th were read by Secretary Gerald Russo.
1. Corrections to minutes: Correct spelling of Chip Borona’s name
2. The minutes were moved and accepted.
3. The treasurer’s report was presented by Treasurer Bill Little.
a) As of this date there is $2,671.68 in the treasury.
4. The report was moved, seconded and accepted as presented.
5. Added was a special thanks to Mrs. Little for providing the wonderful pulled-pork and jambalaya.
C. Old Business
1. Need to work on the engine/yard facility, also fix a few track ends on some of the straight modules.
2. Report on status of the engine servicing facility
a). Need to wire power lead to bridge. (completed on 2/22, thanks Chuck)
b). Need to install new turntable (when it arrives)
c). Install “bridge tracks with lead-in plugs” (match track polarity).
d). Check power from Zephyr to all of the yard tracks.
3. We need a work list of repairs that need to be made to the modules.
a). Saw mill needs to be plugged and drilled (Reed’s middle module)
b). Need to modify the legs to the 2 X 4 modules (Jerry Russo)
4. Schedule additional work days.
D. New Business
1. Schedule training session for Engine facility.
2. We need to purchase DCC controller for Turntable—$90.00
3. May need to ask for technical assistance from the “N” Scale club:
a). Can power be run from the main lines and Zephyr at the same time?
b). How do the two control systems work together?
4. The turnout where the mainline connects to the yard has a derail issue, and may need to be replaced
5. Design and add a small yard to the main lines (2)
a). Turnouts from 1st & 2nd main lines and back
b). Need to add operations elements to several layout modules (coal, cement, oil)
E. Comments by any other members.
1. Chip requests that his wife be added to member’s prayers, she has been diagnosed with a blood cancer, early stage, but medications are available.
2. Rick indicates that he will be having a Cat/Pet scan, also that he will be moving out of his “new” house in March and could use any help available.
3. Due to the increase in active members on “run-nights” Bill posed the issue of possibly developing a run-time schedule for both the main lines and yard operations.
F. Club Welfare
Our prayers are with Chip in his continued recovery. We continue to lift up Steve, Donna (surgery 1/22), Bob Tribble, Sean O’Brien and his family (covid), Rick Simmons and Reed.
